Deputy Chief Operating Officer

Band 9 (£91,004 - £104,927)

We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative and inspirational leader who will support the Chief Operating Officer in the effective and high quality delivery of patient services in Morecambe Bay.

This includes leading on specific elements within the Chief Operating Officer’s portfolio including supporting the continual, effective management of our clinical Care Groups, ensuring the provision of appropriate patient centred care and, delivery against the Trust’s corporate objectives, in particular the Trust’s objectives to achieve sustainable financial health.

You will provide leadership, support and advice to ensure Care Groups are able to function safely and effectively to meet the needs of patients, staff and volunteers within available resources. You will support the development of a high performance and learning culture that facilitates partnership and multi-professional working; and will work with the senior leadership team to identify suitable benchmarking opportunities for improved productivity, efficiency and clinical quality. 

Working with partners across the Bay and within the ICS you will hold responsibility for good effective patient flow through our acute hospitals and support the Chief Operating Officer in the COVID-19 emergency response including leadership of our restoration and recovery plans. 

You will combine gravitas and intellect with extensive professional operational experience and will have a strong track record of delivery, able to manage multiple projects and drive change.

You will need to be politically astute, intellectually agile with excellent communication skills.  Creative, innovative and highly skilled at forging relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, you must demonstrate passion and empathy for the values of the Trust
