''A great place to be cared for; a great place to work''

Trust Associate Specialist Dermatologist - Dermatology

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us at The University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT), in the historic city of Lancaster and close to the beautiful Lake District, with great educational opportunities for all ages, affordable housing, and easy access by road and rail to Manchester, Liverpool and beyond.

We can now offer the opportunity either a Trust Associate Specialist to join our high-performing, experienced and innovative Dermatology team. This team provides exceptional out-patient care and you will be able to practice the breadth of skills associated with the specialty, including carrying-out minor excisions and operational procedures as well as conducting the whole range of skin cancer care, delivering phototherapy treatment services and provide Advice & Guidance to community based Primary Care colleagues. You will be involved in developing the way dermatology care is provided to our patients, maintaining our high quality patient-centred service.

We would consider developing special interest clinics to fit with a subspecialty interest. There is also the potential to design, develop and deliver a Private Patient service in Dermatology in this location.

There is no on-call associated with this post.

The Trust has a keen interest and deep involvement in medical and dental education at both undergraduate and post graduate levels. Medical Students from Lancaster Medical School receive the whole of their education, academic and clinical, in Cumbria and North Lancashire following the Liverpool undergraduate medical curriculum. UHMBT is the lead NHS organisation and takes responsibility throughout the five years of the degree for the provision of acute practice placements. Fifth year medical students from Lancaster Medical School spend two months on attachment to the department. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to support the further development of Medicine in this area.

If you are a highly motivated Consultant Dermatologist or Trust Associate Specialist and have an appetite for innovation and driving change then we welcome your enquiry & application.

You will be required to demonstrate an appropriate level of experience along with a wider interest in Dermatology and be fully registered with a licence to practice with the General Medical Council and to hold, or be within 6-months of attaining certification from the General Medical Council, in this field (CCT).

A relevant training package will be available to support the appointment of an Associate Specialist. The University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay Trust are keen to support enthusiastic and committed individuals and in return, we offer excellent development and training support as well as a suitable bespoke relocation package and generous SPA allowance for the right candidate.

Interview expenses will be paid from the point on entry in the UK. Travel to and from he UK is at the candidates own expense.

We would encourage interested candidates to visit the department by arrangement.
