Job overview

Applications are invited from enthusiastic, well-motivated Registered Nurses to join our Gynaecological Nursing team at Furness General Hospital. 

Based on Ward 1, you will participate in a fully integrated Gynaecological nursing service covering inpatients, day case surgery and outpatients, with internal rotation to night duty. 

Main duties of the job


We provide a Gynaecology Assessment Unit, Early Pregnancy Unit, and are looking to expand our Nurse led services.

We also have a responsibility to care for non Gynaecology In patients.

This service is developing and therefore you will need to be flexible and adaptable

Anyone newly appointed to the trust will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period (this includes bank staff). This will give the new staff member an opportunity to become familiar with the role and working environment.

  • 1st Level Registered Nurse
  • Mentor qualification or willingness to Undertake the relevant teaching

  • Post registration clinical course appropriate to gynaecology/womens’ health field

Experience

  • Working within a Multi disciplinary team
  • Desirable:
  • Previous experience within a gynaecology/womens’ health field either as a qualified nurse or as a student nurse(2)

  • Demonstrable appropriate/specific clinical skills: to include basic life support skills.

  • Up to date knowledge of professional issues.
