1 x 13.75 hours  -  17.00 - 19.45 Monday - Friday

1 x 13.75 hours  -  17.00 - 19.45 (worked over 7 days)

1 x 30 hours  -  15.00 - 21.00 Monday - Friday

 

Main duties of the job

 

  • Responsible for identifying areas to be cleaned, plan and organise a cleaning programme with relevant ward or departmental staff, ensuring Patient, Staff and Visitor safety is not compromised.
  • Operating cleaning equipment, machinery in accordance with manufacturer’s instruction ensuring that it is in a good clean working order, reporting faults immediately to supervisor.
  • Undertake deep clean/isolation cleans following national and local guidelines.
  • Change curtains on rotation or in the event of infection.
  • Follow policy and run all water taps/showers in designated areas on a daily basis and record on checklist, deliver to Supervisor who will place on file for 5 years.
  • Carry out spot cleaning to ensure spillages and incidents are dealt with swiftly and efficiently, supported by Clinical staff as appropriate.

The role has one full time vacancy including weekend shifts. 

Anyone newly appointed to the trust will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period (this includes bank staff). This will give the new staff member an opportunity to become familiar with the role and working environment.

To be responsible for a high standard of cleanliness in Clinical areas, public areas and external areas using the appropriate recognised cleaning methods.

Education and qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Evidence in good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Possess or is willing to work towards a BIC's Qualification or equivalent NVQ Level 2
Desirable criteria
  • Health and Safety
  • Knowledge of COSHH

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous cleaning experience
  • Ability to work on your own or in a team without direct supervision
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of cleaning in a healthcare establishment
  • Knowledge of the potential of cross contamination within a healthcare setting

Skills, ability and knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effective
  • Ability to plan your own workload
  • Be able to understand writtern and spoken instructions
  • Be able to use heavy equipment on a regular basis
  • Be able to handle hazardous cleaning chemicals on a regular basis
  • Knowedge of infection control in the cleaning environment
