Do you want to work for an organisation who has just received an overall rating of GOOD from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) with a rating of OUTSTANDING in care?

If you want to achieve a great work/life balance with a professionally satisfying job while living in one of the safest, least congested and most beautiful parts of the country then come and check us out.

About the role…

Applications are welcomed from Physiotherapists who are ready to expand their out-patient skills at specialist level. We are able to offer you the opportunity to join our Physiotherapy team at Furness General hospital providing specialist assessment and treatment to a diverse and varied caseload.

Our primary focus is to deliver quality, patient-centred care which is evidenced based and sustainable for the future in an ever changing NHS landscape. To achieve this, we aim to give you the opportunity to develop your skills in a supportive, dynamic and varied environment and to be involved in service development.

You will develop your skills in a range of specialist areas including MSK, Rheumatology, Hydrotherapy, Amputee Rehabilitation and Cardiac Rehabilitation. In addition you will become part of the weekend and on-call rota with training provided to support you to meet the competencies required for the role.

Duties will include the support and supervision of rotational Physiotherapists and Technical Instructors, and you will develop your skills as a Clinical Educator, supporting undergraduate Physiotherapy students. Support will be given to develop your knowledge and skills within our friendly team with support from experienced Advanced Physiotherapists. We have a strong commitment to staff development and service improvement and provide regular supervision and in-service training.

Anyone newly appointed to the trust will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period. This will give new staff members the opportunity to become familiar with the role and working environment.

About the Trust

Our hospitals have recently been rated as GOOD overall with our care being rated as OUTSTANDING by the CQC.

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT) covers a large geographic area which encompasses the Furness peninsula, the city of Lancaster and the Southern Lake District. It provides a comprehensive range of acute and support hospital services to a population of 350,000 based around Morecambe Bay. UHMBT is one of the largest employers in the area, with approximately 6,000 staff working across five sites.

What can the geographic location of UHMB offer you…

The Lake District, also known as The Lakes or Lakeland, is a mountainous region in North West England. It is famous for its lakes, forests, mountains and fells. The Lake District is home to a great variety of wildlife. The lakes and mountains combine to form impressive scenery, so if you are a hiker, mountain biker, fell walker or just enjoy being in the great outdoors then this is the place for you. You won’t just reap the professional rewards working for UHMBT. Based on the edge of the Lake District, we really do have it all - sensational views, educational opportunities for all ages, affordable housing, and easy access by road and rail to Manchester, Liverpool and beyond.

Dedicated to Better Care across the Bay

The University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay Foundation Trust wants to provide sustainable high quality services that provide an integrated model of care – high quality specialist hospital services wrapping around community based teams to deliver responsive specialist expertise within both acute hospital and community settings and helping to keep people well and to manage their long term conditions closer to home. Plans have been approved to make some bold transformational steps to start to make the changes needed to deliver this vision.
