An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Access to Health Records team based in Barrow-in- Furness.
The role is at Band 3 and interested parties will be prepared to work full time hours and as part of a rota. Experience in an NHS environment and an understanding of the General Data Protection Regulations, Freedom of Information Act 2000 and Access to Health Records Act 1990 is an essential requirement.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring they provide an efficient, friendly professional service for patients and users of the Access to Health services. To undertake administrative responsibility in seeking permission for the release of clinical information to variety of external agencies, this includes both clinical and non-clinical requests.
Anyone newly appointed to the trust will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period (this includes bank staff). This will give the new staff member an opportunity to become familiar with the role and working environment.
Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellent communication and computer skills.
The post demands working with highly confidential and sensitive information to achieve targets and deadlines.
There will be a requirement to work flexibly within the team.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
