An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 3 month secondment for an experienced nurse to join our well established Endoscopy team at Westmorland General Hospital as a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse.

The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is keen to provide both clinical and managerial support to the ward manager and endoscopy team.

Main duties of the job

Our Endoscopy Unit operates a 1 procedure room, 6 days a week, there are plans to move to a 7 day service, providing diagnostic and Bowel cancer Screening procedures. We are JAG accredited and strive to provide high standards of care to our patients.

The successful applicant will possess excellent communication and documentation skills, and be confident and ready to progress in their career. The applicant should be able to demonstrate that they have progressed in their current role and have challenged themselves to take on extended nursing roles and have experience of implementing change.

Experience in Endoscopy or Gastroenterology would be an advantage but not essential if you are the right candidate. You will be working within a friendly innovative driven team that puts the patients at the heart of everything we do.

Working for our organisation

Anyone newly appointed to the trust will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period (this includes bank staff). This will give the new staff member an opportunity to become familiar with the role and working environment.
