An exciting  opportunity has become available within the Medicine Care Group 

We are seeking an enthusiastic,  highly driven, committed and compassionate leader to take on a 12 month secondment/fixed term role within the care group  to support the senior team with the recovery, restoration and transformation of our services.

Main duties of the job

 

The role is required to  lead the transformational change required  and support the Service Managers to improve the performance, efficiency and patient experience.

A commitment to the development of high quality, evidence based care is essential, combined with personal drive, enthusiasm, creativity and resilience. You will be expected to meet the business and workforce objectives of the services, and demonstrate Trust's values at all times. 

The post is  full time with an expectation of cross bay working at a senior level.

 

Working for our organisation

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust covers a large geographic area which encompasses the Furness peninsula, the city of Lancaster and the Lake District. We provide a comprehensive range of acute and support hospital services to a population of 350,000 based around Morecambe Bay.

 

Anyone newly appointed to the trust will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period (this includes bank staff). This will give the new staff member an opportunity to become familiar with the role and working environment.

 

 

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post-holder, is responsible for the coordination and leading of transformational change and projects across the care group

The post-holder, is responsible for the overall patient care and performance throughout the medicine care group. This includes specialist medicine day case and out-patient areas and overall patient flow and performance through the urgent care floor and downstream medical wards.

The post-holder is responsible for line managing the team of service managers in medicine, ensuring effective triumvirate working within the service lines and ensuring delivery of optimal operational ED, RTT and diagnostic waiting times and delivery of out-patient performance.

The post-holder is responsible for the development and co-ordination of performance and business management systems and processes to ensure comprehensive service performance, monitoring and development.

The post-holder must ensure that the services are performing to the latest best practice guidance supporting continual service improvement and best clinical practice.

The post-holder will be responsible for a range of cross care group service development and improvement projects.
