The catering department at Westmorland General Hospital is looking to recruit a catering assistant for duties in their busy department. You will be working for a department that is committed to the ongoing development of their staff. You should have working knowledge of a busy food environment and ideally hold your Foundation food hygiene certificate, full training, and support will be given on induction.

The department’s offers full uniform and safety shoes.                                                                                        

 

  • The 25 hours per week post will cover between the hours of 9:30am - 7:30pm and may involve some weekend work.

 

  • The 23 hours per week post will cover between the hours of 7:00am - 6:00pm.

 

Duties consist of supporting patient feeding, working within the main production area, maintaining a clean and hygienic area within the pot wash and pan wash area.

Supporting the restaurant /café areas of the department.

 

Anyone newly appointing to the trust will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period (this includes bank staff). This will give the new staff member an opportunity to become familiar with the role and working environment.
