Pastry Chef

Hours 25 hours per week which may involve working weekends

Responsible to Head Chef/Catering Manager


Main duties of the job

We are currently looking at recruiting a Pastry Chef within our busy kitchen

Are you that Chef who has natural flare and baking is your passion? then you might be the Chef we are looking for we are looking for someone who can work of their own initiative and bring different ideas to our pastry area of the department

The ideal candidates should have achieved their Food Preparation and cooking NVQ level 2 or the equivalent, have good communication skills and be able to work under pressure.





Working for our organisation

Anyone newly appointed to the trust will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period (this includes bank staff). This will give the new staff member an opportunity to become familiar with the role and working environment.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The candidates should hold their Food foundation certificate/Basic food hygiene and have knowledge of working within a large industrial kitchen

Within your role you will be required to contribute on going to your own personal development with support from the departmental management team

  • Education and qualifications
  • Qualification to NVQ level two food preparation and cooking ,
  • Foundation food Hygiene Qualification
  • Relevant working experience in a restaurant hotel kitchen or Current working knowledge of a bulk service production kitchen.
Desirable criteria
  • Hold or be prepared to work towards NVQ level three food related qualification.
  • Hold or work towards Intermediate / Advanced food Hygiene Qualification
