''A great place to be cared for; a great place to work''

Do you want to work for an organisation who has just received an overall rating of GOOD from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) with a rating of OUTSTANDING in care?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated 37.5 hour band 5 staff nurse to take up a rotational post between Langdales's Step up Step Down Unit and an acute medical ward at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary. The post will be a six months rotation in both areas with review after a 12 month period with many opportunities of using your newly acquired unique transferable skills for permanent positions. The aim of this post is to be able to support the joint working of both organisations and also support staff to develop skills and knowledge in both areas. The post holders will develop the ethos of integrated care and seamless services ensuring that patient care is delivered to the highest possible standard

The Langdale unit is situated within Westmorland General at Kendal in the heart of the lake district. The step up step down unit focuses on a high standard of holistic assessment and care planning of patients who are admitted from both Community services and secondary care. The aim is to be able to facilitate early patient discharge through a Multi-Disciplinary team approach working with partners from both health and social care.

The acute medical services at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary offer a range of opportunities to gain skills in the management of patients with acute strokes, respiratory failure and urgent and emergency care.

UHMB has recently been awarded outstanding for care by the CQC. The AMU is the first in the country to receive GSF accreditation. Training and development is very highly commended within the organisation. We are committed to developing all staff to achieve their full potential and will support further study and training to enable this.

Anyone newly appointed to the trust will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period (this includes bank staff). This will give the new staff member an opportunity to become familiar with the role and working environment
