We are now looking for enthusiastic Radiographers to join our friendly team to undertake a variety of CT examinations, adhering to best practice of radiographic technique. Working within the CT department at WGH provides excellent opportunities to gain experience
in a wide range of CT imaging procedures including, MSK, neurological, vascular, and oncology. The department will be equipped with one GE 128slice scanner
The Radiology department at Westmorland General carries out a full range of investigations,
including General work, U/S, Fluoroscopy and Bone density Imaging, supporting our busy Urgent Treatment centre, Out-patients, In-patients and Theatres. We are setting up a new CT service on the site.
We are equipped with SECTRA PACS and RIS.
The shift pattern would involve working 12.5 hour shifts including weekends and Bank holidays on rotation. Currently there is no night working.
There are currently 6 available posts:
5x Full Time 37.5 Hours Per Week
1x Part Time 22.5 Hours Per Week
Anyone newly appointed to the trust will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period (this includes bank staff). This will give the new staff member an opportunity to become familiar with the role and working environment.
We will consider applications from radiographers with no CT experience, as training can be provided, but this would be on one of our two acute sites at Barrow and Lancaster.
The postholder may be expected to cover shifts at Furness General Hospital in Barrow, or Royal Lancaster Infirmary in Lancaster.
What skills and experience are we looking for?
BSc Radiography or equivalent
Valid Radiographer registration of the HCPC
Previous experience of CT scanning and to have successfully
completed training to undertake IV cannulation desirable but not essential as
training will be provided.
Expertise to ensure the appropriate triage, booking and examination of
patients.
A high level of professionalism and technical standard of work, complying
with relevant Codes of Practice.
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
