''A great place to be cared for; a great place to work''

Paediatric Community - Clinical Lead

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in the Integrated Children's Nursing and Therapy Team (ICNT). Working in Morecambe Bay supported by a collaborative team of Nurses and Therapists whose joint goal is to improve outcomes for children.

We are looking for a Nurse with Paediatric experience to specialise in the management of bowel and bladder dysfunction. You will be mentored by the Specialist Nurse for Continence and have the opportunity to undertake the Specialist Module in Paediatric Bowel and Bladder Management and Nurse Prescribing 2019/2021.

In this post you can improve the lives of children and families, reduce unnecessary hospital admissions, support early safe discharge from hospital and ensuring children receive care closer to home.

If you are passionate about developing a continence service for children, if you are committed and enjoy a challenge, are flexible and enjoy working with children and families then we would love to hear from you.

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT) covers a large geographic area which encompasses the Furness peninsula, the city of Lancaster and the Southern Lake District. It provides a comprehensive range of acute and support hospital services to a population of 350,000 based around Morecambe Bay. UHMBT is one of the largest employers in the area, with approximately 6,000 staff working across five sites.

Anyone newly appointed to the trust will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period (this includes bank staff). This will give the new staff member an opportunity to become familiar with the role and working environment.

Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the resident labour market test. UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UKVI website. From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement. Guidance can be found here Criminal Records Checks for Overseas Applicants.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
