LOCUM - Consultant Ophthalmologist - Glaucoma / General Ophthalmology
This post is to cover a consultant vacancy and the department is looking to make further substantive consultant appointments within the year.
The post-holder will have a 10 PA contract and will be a fixed term locum post for a period of 6 months with a view to extend up to a maximum of fixed term for one year.
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated person able to lead the glaucoma services in our Trust and compliment the skill mix of our existing team. You will work as part of the
Ophthalmology Department and are expected to provide a high quality service and ensure excellent patient care.
The proposed job plan will consist of 10 PAs, including 1-2 theatres, 4 outpatient clinics, SPA and admin sessions. In addition, there is a requirement to contribute to the on call ophthalmic
service on a currently 1:9 rota, as part of the consultant team in the department.

This is an exciting opportunity to be working as part of a dedicated team at Royal Lancaster Infirmary, Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust delivering high quality ophthalmic care to the population of the Morecambe Bay Area.
The development of Better Care Together, a partnership approach between the Trust, Clinical Commissioning Groups and local health and care providers to review how patient services are delivered in the hospital and community. Together we have created a vision and strategic plan for the future.
You will be contracted for 10 programmed activities per week. There is an on call element to the role.
**You must hold full GMC registration with a licence to practice.
