The Post
We are looking for clinically orientated, enthusiastic, highly motivated and adaptable Pharmacists to join our team.
We have flexible opportunities available based at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary . Applications are welcomed from pro-reg pharmacists and pre-registration students due to register within the next year.
The successful Candidate will have opportunities to develop clinical skills through rotations in different areas of hospital pharmacy including a variety of inpatient specialities, Aseptics, Oncology and Clinical Trials
Using our trust-wide Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration tool, you will work alongside our technical team to review medicines reconciliations, optimise patient's medications and verify discharge prescriptions. As part of the team of Pharmacists you will be the responsible pharmacist in our automated dispensary, and will progress to taking part in the on-call rota.
Anyone newly appointed to the trust will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period (this includes bank staff). This will give the new staff member an opportunity to become familiar with the role and working environment.

University hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust operate on three main sites in the Cumbria & Lancashire area and have about 800 beds with a wide range of medical and surgical specialties. The Trust is an Associated University Teaching Hospital, linked with Lancaster Medical School and this reflects in the emphasis placed on Education & Development.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
