The Medicine Care Group Personal Assistant will be an extremely well organised, pro-active individual with an interest in Medicine  who is able to manage a fast paced, unpredictable workload with professional enthusiasm.

Key elements of the role will include use of Teams 365,  diary management and resolving diary conflicts in order to ensure optimal efficient use of managers time, arranging meetings including producing papers and agendas and taking and producing accurate and timely minutes from both virtual and face to face meetings.

Main duties of the job

Supporting the care group senior team, primarily the Associate Directors.

Key elements of the role will include use of Teams 365,  diary management and resolving diary conflicts in order to ensure optimal efficient use of managers time, arranging meetings including producing papers and agendas and taking and producing accurate and timely minutes from both virtual and face to face meetings.

Based in either Kendal, Barrow in Furness or Lancaster.

Experience of working in a health or social care setting will be an advantage.

Working for our organisation

We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

Education and qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Good standard of general education (including GCSE English or equivalent)
  • NVQ Business Admin level 3 or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • RSA III

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of NHS structure/function and stakeholders
  • Administrative/secretarial background
  • Diary management
Desirable criteria
  • Significant experience working for a senior executive/senior manager

Skills, ability and knowledge

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages
  • Competent in all aspects of office administration including minute taking
