An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Surgical & Critical Care Group for a Ward Manager based on a busy Orthopaedic Ward.
You will be able to provide effective leadership and line management to all grades of staff, directing and monitoring activities to provide the optimal standard of care. You will also be responsible for the ward environment meeting mentionable required standards and to highlight deficits to the Senior Nurse/Site Lead Nurse.
The successful candidate will be able to deal with difficult and sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy whilst remaining flexible and adaptable to changing environment and needs of the service.
The role will be part time 30 hours per week with a 24 hour responsibility for the ward.
Anyone newly appointed to the trust will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period (this includes bank staff). This will give the new staff member an opportunity to become familiar with the role and working environment.
Have continuing responsibility for the ward/dept based nursing service over a 24 hour period.
Responsible for Divisional/Site Management on a rotational basis.
Provide effective leadership and line management to all grades of staff, directing and monitoring activities to provide the optimal standard of care.
Responsible for the ward/dept environment meeting mentional required standards and to highlight deficits to the Senior Nurse/Site Lead Nurse.
Deputise for the Senior Nurse/Site Lead Nurse when required
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
